Blue December Dawn is a story about lost love, about that wild summer romance that only makes it a few months. It’s that deep, sinking feeling you feel in your heart when you realize someone doesn't feel the same about you. It’s so badly wanting to know why, and wishing you could somehow change their mind. It’s remembering all the beautiful memories and wishing things could somehow be different.

You can’t cage a bird that wants to fly 🦅

Lyrics

I remember the night we first met
You tipped your hat to me as you walked in.
Dollar beers, Ferris wheels, riding shotgun in your Chevy
I thought those summer days would never end.

Candlelit dinners, listening to Neil Young
All my favorite records, you always knew just what to put on
But your wondering eye made it hard to deny
You can't cage a bird that wants to fly.

I wish I knew how to change your mind
Tell me you wont stay away another night
Cause each morning when I wake up, these memories of you shine on
Like the sun on a Blue December Dawn

It was sometime when the leaves began to change
the summer sun began to fade away
you called one last time, and said we were through
Now all I have are these memories of you.

I wish I knew how to change your mind
Tell me you wont stay away another night
Cause each morning when I wake up, these memories of you shine on
Like the sun on a Blue December Dawn.

I don't want no-one but you
You got me feeling like a goddamn fool, can't let you use and abuse this heart no more.

I wish I knew how to change your mind
Tell me you wont stay away another night
Cause each morning when I wake up, these memories of you shine on
Like the sun on a Blue December Dawn.
